Elected as Senegal  president in April  2000,Abdoulaye Wade, has decided to seek a third term in the February 26 presidential  elections. The constitution limits heads of states to two terms in office but the judges  ruled Mr Wade's first term did not count as this was before the limit was introduced.

Senegal has headed to a run off after a heated first round elections against Macky Sall. His seeking of a third term in office has lead to bloody demonstrations the country has ever experienced in its history.Such instances are typical of African presidents who cling on to power even if it is clear their public s dont need them.DRC,among others has faced these problems.

The Fossil Fuel Industry Must be banned from Climate Change Negotiations

The Fossil Fuel Industry Must be banned from Climate Change Negotiations Coal Burning Emitting Carbon Dioxide into the Environment, Hwange Coal Power Station in Hwange, Zimbabwe ( http://www.bh24.co.zw/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/hwange-power-station2.jpg ) Fossil fuels are natural fuel such as coal or gas, formed in the geological past from the remains of living organisms and are used for energy generation mainly through combustion. Burning fossil fuels releases carbon into the atmosphere as shown in the typical power station at Hwange in Zimbabwe. Fossil fuels provide most of the energy that supports human transportation, electricity production, heating and cooling of buildings, and industrial activity but are the major causes of climate change. The usage of coal is increasing daily, thereby also increasing the amount of carbon dioxide being released to the environment, thereby potentially causing climate change. In the 1990’s, human fossil fuel use emitted 6.4 Petagrams of ca...

Renewable energy as one of the solutions to the climate crisis towards a sustainable world

Renewable energy as one of the solutions to the climate crisis towards a sustainable world  Photo: Solar energy project in Tanzania for promoting renewable energy access in Africa http://www.energetica-international.com/news/rec-sponsored-solar-panels-for-two-social-projects-in-tanzania Renewable energy still remains unused are most of the countries as a source of energy despite it being the solution to combat climate change. Most of the energy comes from non-renewable sources like coal. It still remains the top choice to produce energy. Unless we give renewable energy a serious thought, the problem of energy crisis cannot be solved. Renewable energy sources can reduce our dependence on fossil fuels and also helps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions ( http://www.conserve-energy-future.com/causes-and-solutions-to-the-global-energy-crisis.php ). The solution to the climate crisis is a transition to 100% renewable energy for all by 2050, in a bid to move towards a universal...
